OSP offers NSU faculty grantswriting workshops locally, as well as seminars delivered via the world-wide web (“webinars”) broadcast by governmental (national) and private funding agencies throughout the academic year.  A nineteen-member advisory group known as the “NSU Research Council” (NRC) advises OSP on matters of policy and procedure, as well as on the development and administration of NSU’s internally-funded and competitively administered (by OSP) seed-grant programs (i.e., the NSU Enrichment Fund), all of which are aimed at stimulating research, creativity and broad dissemination of findings.  The NSU Research Council is broadly representative of all academic colleges at the University, as well as of other NSU entities involved directly or indirectly in research and sponsored programs both at NSU and in the surrounding Natchitoches and Shreveport communities.
